AFG vs IND: Naveen-ul-Haq exudes confidence in Afghanistan’s ‘commanding’ performance at T20 World Cup 2024

AFG vs IND: Afghanistan’s fast bowler, Naveen-ul-Haq, expressed strong belief in Afghanistan’s potential for a successful campaign in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the West Indies and the United States. Currently participating in a 3-match T20I series against India led by Rohit Sharma, Naveen emphasized Afghanistan’s dominant style of play and anticipated a commendable performance in the T20 World Cup.

Highlighting the team’s confidence boost from their ODI World Cup performance in India last year, Naveen acknowledged Afghanistan’s victories over Pakistan, England, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka, despite falling short of reaching the semifinals. Recognized for their prowess in T20 cricket, Afghanistan aims to carry forward the positive momentum from the ODI World Cup into the ongoing series against India and, subsequently, into the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA.

Despite Naveen’s subpar performance in the recent T20I against India, where Afghanistan suffered a six-wicket loss, he remains optimistic about maintaining the team’s momentum. Looking ahead, Naveen is confident that Afghanistan will continue their strong showing in the T20 format, aiming for success in the upcoming global tournament. Notably, Afghanistan is yet to secure a T20I victory against India since their initial encounter in 2010.
